Two former members of the Lutheran Church of Geneva, Elisabeth and Konrad Raiser, (Konrad was general secretary of the WCC) will visit Geneva on Friday, the 12th of january 2018, for a film presentation about Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker.

Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker, the father of Elisabeth, worked as a young physicist on the Uranium project of the Nazis and was involved in the development of the nuclear bomb (with Niels Bohr and Werner Heisenberg) – but luckily never succeeded. Later he would say it was by the grace of God that they would not achieve to build it. After the war he became a pacifist and was one of the philosophical and spiritual fathers of the „konziliarer Prozess“ initiated in the 80ies by the WCC and especially after the wall had come down.

Now Elisabeth has produced a documentary (film) about her father entitled „Kreisgang“ (which means walking in a circle) – a tribute to the philosophical thinking of von Weizsäcker and at the same time an expression of her own searching and walking on the paths of her father.

As a lot of people still know Elisabeth and Konrad Raiser from there Genevan time at WCC and in the Lutheran Church.

I would like to invite you to the presentation of the film on
Friday, 12 January 2018, 19.00 h, in the Lutheran Church.
The film is in German with English subtitles.
Elisabeth and Konrad Raiser will be present as well as Barbara Robra who was the camera-women. After the film we will have a moment of sharing and asking questions.

The entry is free. DVDs will be available for sale.
