Dedication of the Lund Cross – Thursday 18 January, 8h30 at the Ecumenical Center

The joint Catholic-Lutheran Commemoration of the Reformation in Lund and Malmö, Sweden, on 31 October 2016 marked a very important ecumenical moment.
As a sign of continuous commitment with the one ecumenical movement the Lund Cross created for the Joint Commemoration has now been placed in the chapel of the Ecumenical Centre.

The cross was dedicated during a service on the first day of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity on 18 January.   Details on the LWF website.    Full story on the WCC website. The order of worship and the two sermons are also available there.

The Lund Cross was painted by the Lutheran artist Christian Chavarría Ayala from El Salvador in the typical colorful style of his country (photo: LWF) –
